Ben Shaw joins Joshu with more than a decade of industry experience
With prior experience as exited founder, running programs & strategy at an innovation consortium backed by Munich Re, Allianz, and Generali, and serving as Director of Wholesale and Carrier Partnerships at Herald, Ben Shaw brings deep expertise in insurance innovation, carrier distribution, and strategic partnerships to Joshu.
In his new role as Chief Commercial Officer, Shaw will lead Joshu's go-to-market strategy, overseeing all customer-facing functions as the company accelerates adoption of its no-code insurance product and newly released AI capabilities.
"Ben has spent his career helping insurers and technology companies work together more effectively," said Roy Mill, CEO and Co-Founder of Joshu. "His experience across carrier innovation, insurtech partnerships, and commercial insurance distribution makes him uniquely positioned to help us scale our commercial operations and deepen our relationships across the insurance ecosystem."
Prior to joining Joshu, Shaw helped expand innovation programs connecting global insurers with emerging technology companies and later led carrier and distribution partnerships at Herald, where he worked with brokerages, carriers, and software providers to modernize commercial insurance connectivity.
"AI has created a perception that every company can and should build its own software stack. While AI is dramatically accelerating development, the real competitive advantage comes from combining deep domain expertise with technology, not recreating complex infrastructure from scratch,” said Ben Shaw. “End-to-end insurance workflow orchestration is one of those areas where buying a proven platform often creates far more value than building and maintaining it internally. Joshu allows insurers to focus their resources on underwriting, product innovation, and distribution while leveraging a platform purpose-built for insurance operations. I'm excited to join Joshu at a time when AI is fundamentally changing how insurance technology is developed, deployed, and scaled."
The appointment reflects Joshu's continued investment in expanding its market presence and supporting insurers seeking modern infrastructure for product development, underwriting, and digital distribution.
